The celebration traditionally took place on the hills where snow melted away a little bit with the growth of green grass beneath. The hill was called Red Hill, Beautiful Hill, or also called Holy Hill. Newly married couples celebrated and were honored especially in tune with the spring mood and future harvest and a future life.

Contemporary Roditelskiy Den'  comes two days later - it is Tuesday. Nevertheless, people come to cemeteries on that Sunday simply because  they work during the week.
