It
is expected that you study Russian American Company curriculum in the classroom,
and that your class will come to Fort Ross with character names, role-play, and
in costume. A manual will be provided
for you to use as a guideline once you have sent in your reservation form and
confirmation fee of $200.
Being familiar with the overnight program is a great advantage for those
preparing for a day trip, although not necessary.
Teachers who have not been onsite with a class are encouraged to attend the
Teacher’s Training the first weekend of October. Teachers who have not been on
site and will not be attending training must pick from one of the
agendas attached. For all programs we review the agenda before you come on site
so we may offer suggestions for a smooth program. Below are two tentative
agenda’s. Please note you may only stay as late as 4:00 Pm – the very latest.

What a student says about ELDP
Dear Sasha and Vera,
Fort Ross was amazing. I enjoyed everything but 3 of my favorite things were
these. My favorite was the cannon firing. I was surprised how sudden it went
off. There was so much smoke I could hardly see, another thing I loved was the
weaving. My Mom loves mine. She has already put it in the kitchen as a fruit
bowl. Last but not least the soup. ... it gave me an
idea of how the Russians lived.

Fort Ross Rainy Day and/or Early Sunset Schedule - Sample
Here is another tentative schedule for your
class. Note that this schedule is for an early sunset. If it is just sprinkling,
we encourage you to walk from the parking lot. If it is really raining, we
encourage you to drive right to the fort compound. Although some groups do brave
the rain and walk from the Reef, they do so only with proper rain gear.
