Fort Ross State Historic Park

Educational Opportunities

Fort Ross is a wonderful place to bring history enthusiasts of all ages studying California or World History. At Fort Ross nations and people came together in a multi-ethnic community which had at its base international trade in furs and commodities. The experience of learning in a setting such as this makes history fun and memorable.   Being on-site truly leads to a more lasting understanding of history, the people, and their lives who make up history.  It is our goal and dedication to provide a rich learning experience by interpreting the cultural and natural history for all visitors to Fort Ross.

With your educational experience at Fort Ross we encourage visitors to learn about the human diversity of all people who make up the story of this place. Through this understanding and respect of others and the past, we begin to realize that our lives are not so different.  We also begin to appreciate the value of good stewardship of our parks and our communities.

The educational staff will end your wonderful experience at Fort Ross State Historic Park with a friendly cannon firing as a salute to you and your group.
